Lower Providence Emergency Medical Service (LPEMS) - is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization comprised of career and volunteer members who strive to provide the best medical care possible to the residents and visitors of Lower Providence, Upper Providence, & Worcester Townships, along with supporting surrounding communities.

Our organization responds to more than 3,500 emergency calls per year. We rely on donations, subscription fees, and Township contributions to staff and operate our ambulances. Additionally, we rely on insurance reimbursement to completely fund our operation. Most emergency ambulance transports can cost in excess of $1,000, However, most insurance policies cover only small portions of the cost for service.

This means EMS organizations must find additional means for purchasing vital life saving equipment and providing top tier training so that we are always ready for an emergency.

We are committed to our mission to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of the residents and visitors of Lower Providence, Upper Providence, Worcester, and surrounding communities; by providing the highest level of medical services, public education, training, and mentorship with compassion and excellence.

As our call volume grows each year the strain placed on our staff and equipment is significant. Due to our need to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, additional steps were taken to keep our providers and the community safe.
We purchased numerous supplies of protective equipment and decontamination products, to ensure the health and safety of our staff and the public.
